May 21, Fineko/abc.az. The State Statistics Committee has published data on the number of foreign citizens and stateless persons who arrived in Azerbaijan for Jan-Apr 2026, as well as on the number of Azerbaijani citizens who traveled abroad.

ABC.AZ informs that, according to the State Border Service, for Jan-Apr 2026 the total number of citizens of Azerbaijan who left for foreign countries dropped by 4.8% to 602,400 people against the 2025 same term.

Of them, 40.8% went to Turkey (7.5% more versus Jan-Apr 2025), 16.8% - to Russia (1.0% less), 10.8% - to Georgia (7.1% less), 7.9% - to Iran (31.4% less), and 23.7% - to other countries (12.1% less).

67.3% of those who left were men and 32.7% - women. Over Jan-Apr 2026, 69.7% of citizens traveled by air, 28.2% by rail and road, and 2.1% by sea.
