October 23, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has recorded changes in the level of self-sufficiency in basic food products that have undergone industrial processing.

According to the State Statistics Committee’s published data, there has been a sharp increase in domestic olive oil production.

Thus, the level of self-sufficiency in olive oil has more than doubled compared to 2020, when it was 31.5%, and reached 73.6% in 2025.

The level of self-sufficiency in vegetable oils, which peaked at 73.2% in 2021, fluctuated in subsequent years and decreased to 52.4% in 2025.

The margarine self-sufficiency rate was 98.6% in 2020, 99.6% in 2021, 99.3% in 2022, 99.2% in 2023, 97.7% in 2024, and 94.4% in 2025.
