May 19, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 20 years, Azerbaijan has managed to reduce the poverty rate from 49% to 5%.

ABC.AZ reports that Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov stated this at an event within the 13th session of the World Urbanization Forum (WUF13), held in Baku, on the theme "Cities at the center of connectivity: urban reconstruction & regional cooperation".

According to Jabbarov, Azerbaijan's achievements in the field of economic development and urban ties have played an important role in improving the well-being of the population: "Linking cities with economic development is one of the key goals in terms of improving people's quality of life. Azerbaijan is one of the countries that have managed to resolve the most complex and long-lasting territorial conflict in the region. As President Ilham Aliyev said yesterday and Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted today, the country is actively working in this direction."
