May 14, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, loans for 75 million manats were given in Azerbaijan for the purchase of electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles, ABC.AZ informs with reference to the Sustainable Financing Report of the Central Bank.

According to the document, last year, the share of loans for electric vehicles and hybrids in the overall portfolio grew by 13 percentage points in terms of the number of loans (from 48% up to 61%) and in terms of the amount of loans - by 6 p.p. (from 65% to 71%).

The Report notes that transition to low-emission vehicles has had impact on banks' car loan portfolio. In 2025, indicators both in terms of the amount of loans (75 million manats) and their number showed growth against 2024. This rise was particularly noticeable on the number of loans, which indicates expansion of lending activity. This dynamic indicates growing demand for low-emission transport and allocation of financial resources to more environmentally efficient segment of transport.

At the same time, it was noted that in 2025, the share of hybrid cars in imports grew sharply, reaching 60%. This growth is attributed to the wider spread of hybrids in the market and consumer preferences. This trend may be related to such factors as infrastructure, price differences, energy supply, and consumer behavior.
