May 6, Fineko/abc.az. The CBA does not see any problems in connection with the mention of Yelobank OJSC in the 20th package of EU’s sanctions.
ABC.AZ reports that Taleh Kazimov made this statement at today’s news conference.
He added that the CBA maintains regular contacts with the so-called bank and financial institution.
Kazimov stressed that the inclusion of Yelo Bank in the sanctions package of the European Union was the result of misunderstanding: "Yelo Bank's connection to the Russian system took place even before the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. This system has already been closed. Yelo Bank has sufficient stability both in terms of liquidity and capital adequacy. It's just that the bank may have some difficulties making payments."
He noted that appeals will be sent to the appropriate authorities to clarify the reasons.
