April 22, Fineko/abc.az. Only legal entities will be able to engage in financial lease activities in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ ifnorms that Central Bank’s deputy chairman Togrul Aliyev stated about this at a meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship during the discussion of the Bill on Financial Leasing.

"The Bill proposes a structure relating to prudential regulation and control of financial landlords through the CBA. Legal entities providing financial lease services will be included in the register created by the CBA. After the adoption of the Bill, the illegal use of the names of organizations that contain the words "financial lease", "financial leasing", "leasing" will be excluded (regulated). There is also a requirement to provide information to at least one credit bureau. This will help eliminate information asymmetries in the financial market, correctly determine the debt burden and improve the availability of credit. The way the lessor maintains accounting records and prepares financial statements will be regulated by the Accounting Act. The annual financial statements should be submitted to the CBA together with the auditor's report," he said.
