April 14, Fineko/abc.az. TotalEnergies (France) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Turkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı (TPAO), providing for cooperation in the field of geological exploration, including work in the Black Sea and joint international projects.

ABC.AZ reports that the agreement is aimed at developing technical partnership amid growing European interest in the Black Sea shelf due to reduced access to Russian energy resources and supply instability.

Previously, other companies have also stepped up their work in the region, including projects in Romania and Bulgaria. Turkey, in turn, continues its policy of developing an energy hub and expanding international partnerships.
