April 13, Fineko/abc.az. The heads of the three largest US oil companies have sent a warning to the Donald Trump administration about the impending fuel crisis.
ABC.AZ reports, referring to The Wall Street Journal, that business expressed serious concern about Washington's plans for a naval blockade of Iran, which began on April 13. The main risk is associated with the possible closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a key transport artery, the shutdown of which threatens to disrupt global supply chains.
While the official White House is trying to calm the market by saying that any problems with navigation in the Strait will be resolved within a few weeks, corporate executives are pessimistic. In private conversations, they note that the high uncertainty due to the conflict with Tehran makes it impossible to plan long-term investments in the industry. The situation is complicated by the fact that the blockade announced by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) affects almost all Iranian shipping, with the exception of transit to ports of third countries.
