Iraq redirects oil exports to north through Kurdistan and Turkey

April 6, Fineko/abc.az. Iraq began pumping close to 90,000 b/d from Basra to Kurdistan with further shipment to Turkish Ceyhan.

ABC.AZ reports that this will increase overall exports via the northern route up to 340,000 b/d and strengthen its role as an alternative to the southern routes.

The decision relates to the risks around the Strait of Hormuz, despite the partial resumption of tanker passage. At the same time, buyers remain cautious, and Baghdad and Erbil previously agreed on supplies via an oil pipeline to Turkey amid a decrease in activity in the region.
