April 2, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's banking sector made net profit of 189.7 million manats in the first 2 months of 2026 (Jan-Feb 2025 - 179.4 million manats).

ABC.AZ informs that the banking sector generated operating profit of 301.2 million manats and paid 47.7 million manats of profit tax to the State Budget.

The total assets of the banks reached 57.1 billion manats, liabilities - 49.6 billion manats, and balance sheet capital - 7.5 billion manats. During the month, assets increased by 0.3%, liabilities by 0.2%, and equity by 1.5%, indicating stable growth in the sector.

In February, the loan portfolio grew by 0.5%, or by 138.8 million manats, up to 30.1 billion manats. The main part of the portfolio consisted of business loans (16.1 billion manats), consumer loans (9.5 billion manats) and mortgage loans (4.6 billion manats).
