March 31, Fineko/abc.az. Malaysian vessels will not pay for passage through the Strait of Hormuz due to friendly relations with Iran, ABC.AZ reports, quoting country's Minister of Transport Anthony Locke.

Iran retains full control over the strait, closing it to the U.S., Israel and their allies, but leaving it open to friendly countries and imposing duties on other carriers. Restrictions affecting the key global oil route have already led to a sharp increase in energy prices.
