Iraqi oil supplies to Turkey via Ceyhan begin

16:48 - 18.03.2026

March 18, Fineko/abc.az. Oil supplies from Kirkuk (Iraq) to Ceyhan (Turkey) have started - about 250,000 b/d, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar.

The pipeline can carry up to 1.5 million b/d, and Turkey has offered Iraq to extend it to Basra. This route is important for Iraq and the region, especially amid possible risks from the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of the world's oil passes.
