March 2, Fineko/abc.az. The development of capital markets plays an important role in accelerating economic transformation in Azerbaijan, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Enrico Pinali, Head of the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) Private Sector Development Department for Central and West Asia.

According to Pinali, capital markets provide financing for business and infrastructure projects by converting savings into long-term investments and support economic growth.

"When companies attract financing through bonds and capital markets, dependence on short-term bank financing decreases. This allows them to direct more funds to growth, innovation and sustainable development projects," he said.
