Bitcoin and Ethereum lose up to 5% amid mass liquidations in crypto market

February 23, Fineko/abc.az. The cost of the two largest cryptocurrencies by capitalization - bitcoin and Ethereum (ETH) - is decreasing within 4%.

ABC.AZ informs that this is evidenced by data from the Binance crypto exchange.

As of 10:57 a.m. (Baku time), the bitcoin exchange rate decreased by 3.38% to $65,747 and Ethereum by 4.87% to $1,879.

According to portal Coinmarketcap, total capitalization of the cryptocurrency market reaches $2.26 trillion. Of this volume, $1.315 trillion, or 58.2% accounts for bitcoin, while $227.034 billion, or 10.1% accounts for Ethereum.

Over the past day, positions of more than 137,000 traders for $481 million have been liquidated at global crypto exchanges, while $224.85 million accounted for bitcoin. The main part - $434 million - long positions, $47.55 million - short positions. The largest order is $61.51 million on HTX in the BTC-USDT pair.
