February 3, Fineko/abc.az. The monthly inflation in Georgia was 1.2% in January 2026 and annual inflation - 4.8%, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the National Statistical Service of Georgia (Geostat). The report says that core inflation was 2.4%, compared to the same period of 2025, and core inflation, excluding tobacco products, was 2.1%.

The food and soft drinks group had the greatest impact on the price increase in January. Prices in this group grew by 2.9% and contributed to monthly inflation of 0.96%. Among food products, in particular, vegetables and fruits, dairy products, meat, fish and sweets rose in price. In addition, prices for mineral and spring water, soft drinks and natural juices decreased by 0.5%.

In the healthcare sector, prices increased by 2.4%. This rise was mainly linked with medical supplies and equipment. In various groups of goods and services, prices grew by 2.9%. There has been a rise in prices for insurance, financial services and personal care products.

At the same time, prices in the clothing and footwear group fell by 4.3%, which negatively affected monthly inflation.
