November 4, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, socially oriented budget expenditures have increased by 4.4 billion manats or 40% over the past 5 years.
ABC.AZ reports that Finance Minister Sahil Babayev stated about this during the discussion of the Draft Law on State Budget 2026 by the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.
According to the minister, State Budget socially oriented expenditures are projected at 17.1 billion manats, or 41.1% of budget expenditures: "This is 213 million manats more than the forecast for the current year and 2.5 billion manats more than the actual figure for 2024."
Babayev stressed that healthcare expenditures in the consolidated state budget are projected to increase by 6.4% or 227 million manats compared to 2025, and State Budget healthcare expenditures by 195 million manats or 10.7% more: "In general, over the past 5 years, healthcare expenditures in budget expenditures have increased by 43%, and total healthcare costs recorded an increase of 2.6-fold, or 160%."
The minister added that healthcare costs in the country make up 2.7% of GDP, which is one of the highest rates among the CIS countries.
