October 30, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) is strengthening cooperation with the Electronic Security Service on information security and cybersecurity in the financial sector.
ABC.AZ informs that as part of cooperation, the parties will work together to ensure coordinated activities in the field of information security and cybersecurity in the sector, organize relevant events, as well as implement mutual awareness of incidents, cyber attacks and other threats.
CBA deputy chairman Vusal Khalilov said that cooperation will contribute to improving cybersecurity and stability of the financial system. He also stressed that this initiative is an important step towards closer cooperation towards strengthening national cybersecurity.
The head of the ESS, Farid Zeynalov, said that partnership would play an important role not only in the financial sector, but also in strengthening country's cybersecurity infrastructure as a whole. He said that increased coordination between the parties would allow for more systematic implementation of cybersecurity measures.
Within the cooperation, educational initiatives are to be realized to increase knowledge about cybersecurity among participants in the financial sector and the general public.
