Azerbaijan’s electricity exports to Turkey decreased

October 20, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Aug 2025, Azerbaijan exported 345.733 million kWh of electricity to Turkey.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to the State Statistics Committee, that earnings from electricity exports in this volume reached  $21.432 million.

Electricity exports to Turkey declined by $5.282 million, or 19.8% in value terms, and by 74.452 million kWh in volume terms, or 17.7%, compared with Jan-Aug 2024.

No electricity exports from Turkey to Azerbaijan were recorded during the reported term.

For Jan-Aug 2025, Azerbaijan exported 919.9 million kWh of electricity for $52.7 million to four countries - Russia, Georgia, Iran and Turkey. This means a cost reduction of $4.8 million, or 8.3%, to 98.8 million kWh, or 10%, against Jan-Aug 2024.

At the same time, Azerbaijan imported 115.6 million kWh of electricity for $4.9 million from Russia, Georgia and Iran ($26,000 or 0.5% less versus the first 8 months of last year in value terms and by 7.6 million kWh or 6.2% less in volume terms).
