October 2, Fineko/abc.az. Bilasuvar Solar Power Plant (SES) will provide 4-5% of Azerbaijan's energy needs.

ABC.AZ reports that Javid Abdullayev, the director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources, made the relevant statement at the installation ceremony of the first panel at Bilasuvar solar power plant.

According to Abdullayev, the Bilasuvar plant will be put into operation in the 1st half of next year, and from the end of 2026 it will transmit electricity to the grid at full capacity: "That is, by the end of next year, the Bilasuvar solar power plant will be fully connected to the network. This solar power plant will ensure 4-5% of Azerbaijan's electricity needs."

He noted that this solar power plant will have positive impact on both the economic and social spheres of Bilasuvar district: "It will be important to ensure employment in the region and the district."
