September 30, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani banks have so far given loans for totally 300 million manats relating to transition to green economy.

ABC.AZ informs that Central Bank’s general director Shahin Mahmudzade made this statement on the opening day of the III Baku Climate Week (BCAW2025).

He said that Azerbaijan's banking sector has made voluntary commitment to transition to green economy until 2030 in the amount of 2 billion manats: "This was announced during COP29. According to the latest statistics, local banks have given nearly 13,000 loans for 300 million manats in connection with this activity."

In conclusion, according to Mahmudzade, green transition is a difficult and long-term path: "But the dynamics that we are creating today will have long-term consequences."
