September 24, Fineko/abc.az. In China, a former long-range submarine communications facility has been converted into a Wireless Electromagnetic Method (WEM) ground-penetrating radar.
ABC.AZ reports that its antennas stretch for tens of kilometers, and the transmitter power allows it to probe the subsurface to a depth of over 3 km. The technology has already opened the country's largest deposits of lithium (490 million tons) and gold. In the future, the range of the installation will reach 2,000 km, which will give China an advantage in the extraction of strategic resources, including uranium and cobalt.
