September 20, Fineko/abc.az. During the first 8 months of this year, as a result of control measures carried out at 85 facilities based on the decisions of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, law enforcement agencies, the work plan of the State Financial Control Service, and unscheduled inspections, excessive and unjustified payments amounting to 166.9 million manats were identified.

ABC.AZ reports this with reference to the Ministry of Finance.

It was noted that the inspection materials have been submitted to law enforcement agencies for appropriate action against officials who committed violations, as well as for the recovery of these funds to the state budget.

Discussions emphasized that efforts to strengthen control over the efficient and purposeful use of state funds, to improve the quality and transparency of control activities will continue, and that the scope of such forms of oversight as analysis and monitoring will be expanded.
