September 5, Fineko/abc.az. In Germany, at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre, Jupiter — the first European exascale-class supercomputer capable of performing more than one quintillion calculations per second — has been launched.
According to ABC.AZ, it already ranks 4th in the world in the TOP500 list and is recognized as the most energy-efficient among the top five systems.
The project cost is €500 million, with half of the funds provided by the EU and the rest by Germany.
Jupiter is expected to support Europe in a wide range of areas, from climate research to training AI models.
