September 3, Fineko/abc.az. Iran is stepping up efforts to expand renewable energy, with a particular focus on solar power.

According to ABC.AZ, the government plans to raise the country's renewable energy capacity to 7,000 megawatts within a year. Over the next three years, the share of renewables in total energy production is expected to reach 15%, driven primarily by solar projects.

Authorities are also actively cooperating with investors by offering guaranteed purchase agreements for renewable facilities, making the sector increasingly attractive due to its high return on investment.
