Silver price hits $41 for first time since 1980

September 1, Fineko/abc.az – The price of silver on the New York Commodity Exchange (COMEX) has surpassed $41 per ounce for the first time in history. The precious metal’s peak price reached $41.975 per ounce, the highest level since January 1980.

ABC.AZ reports that the official silver price on COMEX continues to rise today, following a 2.7% increase after trading on April 8, 2011.

During trading on April 8, 2011, silver prices on COMEX ranged between a low of $39.515 per ounce and a high of $40.960 per ounce.
