October 1, Fineko/abc.az. Foreign citizens’ costs in Azerbaijan increased by 26% for the first 8 months past compared to the past year.

The review of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communications says that over Jan-Aug the foreign visitors to Azerbaijan carried out operations for AZN 888 million through bank cards.

"The banking operations conducted by foreign citizens and citizens without citizenship in Azerbaijan increased by AZN 184 million or 26% compared to the same period of 2017. In August alone, the foreigners paid AZN 141 million in transactions with cards, that is by 39% more than in August 2017," the review says.

For Jan-Aug 1.976 million foreigners from 193 countries arrived in Azerbaijan that is by 8.5% more than against the 2017 same term.
