Adnoc Drilling wants to acquire a drilling company in Kuwait and Oman

17:01 - 1.08.2025

August 1, Fineko/abc.az. Adnoc Drilling, part of state-owned oil giant ADNOC, plans to acquire a company that manages oil and gas drilling rigs in Kuwait and Oman, ABC.AZ informs, referring to company’s finance director Youssef Salem.

This will be the second such deal in less than a year. In May, Adnoc Drilling agreed to pay around $112 million for 70% of SLB (formerly Schlumberger) drilling business in Kuwait and Oman. The new contract is likely to have a similar structure and scope, which will allow for expansion of operations without excessive risks.

The deal will be completed by the end of 2025 or early 2026 and will provide access to eight existing onshore drilling rigs - six in Oman and two in Kuwait. At the same time, it is planned to increase their number at least twice, Bloomberg writes.
