July 21, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Jun 2025, 1.217 million foreign citizens and stateless persons from 178 countries visited Azerbaijan (1.1% less versus Jan-Jun 2024).

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Statistics Committee, that 25.8% of the arrivals accounted for citizens of Russia, 17.6% - citizens of Turkey, 9.4% - India, 8.2% - Iran, 4.2% - Georgia, 3.7% - Kazakhstan, 3.2% - Saudi Arabia, 2.9% - Pakistan, 2.1% - China, by 1.9% for Israel and Uzbekistan, 1.8% - the UAE, 1.4% - Ukraine, 1.3% - Turkmenistan, by 1% for Belarus and Kuwait, and 12.6% - citizens of other countries. 67.9% of the visitors were men, 32.1% - women.

Compared with 2024, the number of tourists from Israel increased significantly - 1.9-fold, from Tajikistan - 1.8-fold, from China - 1.6-fold. There was also an increase in the number of visitors from Japan - by 44.3%, Kyrgyzstan - by 40.5%, Jordan - by 20.7%, the Netherlands - by 19.1%, Kazakhstan - by 18.3%, the USA - by 17.7%, Pakistan - by 16.7%, Canada - by 16.0%, Italy - by 13.2%, South Korea - by 13%, Germany - by 11.1%, Uzbekistan - by 10.3%.

During the year, the number of arrivals from the European Union grew by 6.4%, reaching 49,700 people. At the same time, the number of tourists from the Persian Gulf countries decreased by 7% to 186,000 people, and from the CIS countries - by 7.3% to 422,900 people. The number of arrivals from other countries increased by 5.8%, reaching 558,800 people.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons mainly traveled to Azerbaijan by air (74.3%), by rail and road(24.3%), and by sea (1.4%).
