July 14, Fineko/abc.az. Ukraine sees potential in Azerbaijan for expanding cooperation in the field of natural gas production, storage and transportation.

ABC.AZ reports that the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine informed about this following the 13th Baku meeting of the Azerbaijan-Ukraine Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.

"We are open to new formats of cooperation in the gas sector. In particular, Ukraine offers its underground gas storage facilities for an international gas storage facility. Our underground gas storage facilities are the largest in Europe and are provided to foreign companies under a customs storage regime," said commission’s co-chair on behalf of Ukraine and Energy Minister German Galushchenko.

He noted that special attention was paid to developing the transit potential of both countries by improving transport corridors, in particular the Middle Corridor.
