April 15, Fineko/abc.az. Against the background of lower oil prices, it is necessary to strengthen accountability in the use of budget funds, ABC.AZ reports, quoting MP Ali Masimli as saying this at a meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.

According to Masimli, despite the adoption of the law on public procurement in Azerbaijan, there are many shortcomings in this area due to the insufficient level of its implementation.

Masimli noted that the country is actively demolishing dilapidated housing and building new buildings: "Public funds will be allocated for these purposes, so it is necessary to provide rational spending mechanisms in advance."

The parliamentarian also stressed that the prices of housing built by private developers often do not correspond to the average income of citizens, which makes it difficult to provide housing for the population.
