March 7, Fineko/abc.az. Female entrepreneurs make up about 23% of the total number of business entities in Azerbaijan, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Agency for the Development of Small & Medium-sized Businesses (KOBIA).
The Agency notes that contribution of women entrepreneurs, operating mainly in sectors such as services, trade and industry, to sustainable economic development and employment is growing.
Recently, a female entrepreneur opened a network of preschool educational institutions in Ganja, which operates not only in the city itself, but also in Baku, Sumgayit and Khirdalan. State support for the creation of a network of preschool educational institutions was provided by KOBIA.
KOBIA emphasizes that in 2024, approx. 167,000 manats were allocated for women entrepreneurs' projects, 8 of them received a Startup certificate, which exempts their innovative projects from taxes. In 2024, close to 250 women entrepreneurs received support in selling their goods and services by facilitating their participation in exhibitions and fairs, as well as access to retail chains.
In addition, KOBIA regularly organizes meetings to promote entrepreneurship among women and support the development of women's entrepreneurship, as well as implements projects together with partner organizations.
