February 28, Fineko/abc.az. This year, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan reduced the discount rate to 6.75%.

ABC.AZ informs that this is stated in the forecast of Fitch Solutions.

Fitch believes that if the Central Bank reduces the discount rate to 6.75%, it will be the lowest in the last five years.

"A reduction in the discount rate is likely to stimulate both consumption and investment growth," FS added.

Earlier, ING Group Financial Corporation of the Netherlands reported that the CBA predicts an increase in the discount rate from 7.25% to 7.50%.

Since May 2024, the CBA has kept the discount rate at 7.25%. The Central Bank will announce the next decision on the discount rate on March 12, 2024.
