December 19, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Nov 2024, the Accounts Chamber conducted 7 audits in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR), ABC.AZ reports, quoting ACA chairman Vugar Gulmamedov, as saying this at the Financial Forum in Nakhchivan.
"Following the audits, it was decided to restore funds in the amount of 32.5 million manats in cash, in kind and by offsetting. Materials on five inspections have been sent to law enforcement agencies, and the results of the other five audits have been submitted to the NAR Cabinet Ministers for taking measures within their competence," he said.
Gulmamedov noted that the investigation of the revealed violations indicates the weakness of internal control mechanisms in institutions.
"Insufficient responsibility of officials, as well as a lack of skills and knowledge in this area, are the reason for the identified shortcomings. We consider it important that government agencies such as the Ministry of Finance and the Accounts Chamber support improvement of financial management in the Nakhchivan public sector. It also helps strengthen financial discipline. That is why we support holding such meetings and workshops," he said.
