November 25, Fineko/abc.az. Banks in Thailand have stopped servicing bank cards of payment system of UnionPay, issued by Gazprombank.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to TASS that ATMs of credit institutions represented in the kingdom, when trying to withdraw funds, return the UnionPay card with a notification of an incorrect operation.
The credit institution also reported that it records difficulties in the operation of UnionPay cards abroad and advises in the near future to withdraw cash to pay for purchases.
Turkish banks have also stopped servicing UnionPay bank cards issued by Russian bank Gazprombank.
When trying to withdraw money from an ATM, a warning is issued either about a technical error or that the card is not serviced by this bank. In addition, some ATMs display a notification that the bank does not authorize transactions with this card.
A similar situation has been observed in ATMs of state-owned banks, as well as private financial institutions in Turkey and banks with foreign participation. The denial of service applies to both Gazprombank's corporate cards and individual ones with the UnionPay system.
Credit organizations of the United Arab Emirates have also stopped servicing UnionPay payment system bank cards issued by Gazprombank.
When you try to use the card, ATMs of Emirati credit institutions display a notification about a technical error on the screen. The notification text says that the card is inactive or blocked. Users are also asked to contact their bank's support service.
Gazprombank's UnionPay payment system cards have ceased to be serviced by both private Emirati banks and government credit institutions, including Emirates NBD, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. Previously, holders of such bank cards could withdraw cash from most major banks in the country, with the exception of First Abu Dhabi Bank and Mashreq.
Banks in Germany have also stopped servicing UnionPay payment system cards issued by Russian Gazprombank.
When requesting a cash withdrawal from Sparkasse ATMs, an inscription appears on the screen stating that "this feature is currently unavailable." On Friday morning, this operation could have been carried out.
Deutsche Bank also stopped servicing.
In addition, a similar situation is observed in Hungary.
