November 18, Fineko/abc.az. In September 2024, Azerbaijan purchased another 3,954 kg of gold and has steadily increased imports of the precious metal over the past 6 months.

ABC.AZ reports that because of this, $324.63 million in foreign currency was exported from the country.

The country began importing gold in this way this year, just a month after the rally in gold prices on world exchanges.

Although by March of this year the precious metal was worth $2,000 per ounce, it rose in price after the central banks of developed countries suspended interest rate increases over the past two years and the uncertainty of geopolitical risks on a global scale, rising to a historic high of $2,700.
