October 30, Fineko/abc.az. By the decision of the Turkish government, customs duties on the import of certain types of plastic products from countries that are not members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) have been increased. An exception has been made only for Azerbaijan.
ABC.AZ reports that the decree of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on changing the import regime was published in the official gazette of the Turkish government - Resmi Gazete.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Trade, the increase in customs duties is conditioned by the desire to protect and stimulate domestic production and reduce country's trade deficit.
According to the government's decision, an additional duty in the amount of $50 to $400 will be levied on a ton of plastic products imported from non-WTO countries (with the exception of Azerbaijan).
The decision will take effect 30 days after publication.
