September 26, Fineko/abc.az. Populations deposits in banks of Azerbaijan has reached a historical maximum of 14 billion manats.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to CBA statistical bulletin for August 2024, individuals’ bank deposits in the specified month reached 230.8 million, or It increased by 1.7 percent up to 13.89 billion manats.

The equivalent of 4.78 billion manats was made up of deposits of individuals in foreign currency.

The increase in interest rates on deposits by banks in recent months has had an important impact on the collection of deposits.

Thus, the volume of term deposits increased by 1.8 percent over the past month, reaching 8.215 billion manats. Only 2.846 billion manats in the equivalent of term deposits are placed in foreign currency.

The remaining 5.676 billion manats of deposits consist of demand deposits.
