September 26, Fineko/abc.az. As of September 1, 2024, the assets of the Azerbaijani banking sector amounted to 49.567 billion manats (9.3% more against the 2023 same term).

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan that as of September 1, 2024, banks’ total liabilities reached 43.256 billion manats, capitalization of the banking sector - 6.3 billion manats.

In August, assets, liabilities and balance sheet capital of banks grew by 1%, 0.9% and 1.6%, respectively.

The loan portfolio of banks in August increased by 1.5% or by 380.9 million manats up to 26.075 billion manats.

The structure of the loan portfolio:

I) Business loans - 53.7% (13.999 billion manats);

II) consumer loans – 30.6% (7.978 billion manats);

III) mortgage loans – 15.7% (4.097 billion manats).
