July 15, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, as one of the conditions for the import of cigarettes as a tobacco product, the importer must carry out activities in the field of tobacco production for at least 1 year.

ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the amendment to the Law on Tobacco & Tobacco Products, signed by the presidential decree.

The main purpose of this condition is to protect the interests of the domestic market, maintain the priority of local production, increase export potential, as well as control sustainable and targeted activities.
