Last year, Azerbaijan invested $54 million in Georgia's economy

March 11, Fineko/abc.az. In 2023, foreign direct investments in the Georgian economy amounted to $1.6 bn, ABC.AZ reports, referring to business portal bm.ge.

This is about 24% less than in 2022.

Most of the foreign direct investments was made in the financial and insurance sector - $630.1 million (39.5% of total investments).

The manufacturing industry took the 2nd place ($291.7 million), and the transport sector - 3rd place ($138.2 million).

The UK was the largest investor in Georgia in 2023. UK’s investments dropped by 10% to $392 million.

The Netherlands took 2nd place with $361 million (a rise of 84%), and Türkiye - 3rd place with $169 million (an increase of 206%).

Azerbaijani investments in Georgia reached $54 million.
