February 2, Fineko/abc.az. There is a problem of ecology, water source, and water supply in Azerbaijan. This creates problems for irrigation and water use by consumers in agriculture.

ABC.AZ reports that Smita Misra, a WB senior water supply & sewerage specialist, stated that this occurs because of the climate problem, and not only in Azerbaijan.

She added that the WB is currently facing the question of how to fix this problem:

"Currently, we are very seriously monitoring the process of water loss. Several studies have been initiated and this research is ongoing. Research is also underway in the field of preventing water loss. We strive to ensure that institutions working in this field increase their responsibility to consumers. In general, our work is in the direction of agriculture and sanitation. Water loss is not only a problem in Azerbaijan, this problem exists in many countries. As infrastructure grows, so does water loss. It is necessary to be more careful when building pipes, and we also think that we will give certain recommendations to organizations that build pipes."
