January 8, Fineko/abc.az. By 2040, 37,045 additional jobs are to be created in the tourism sector of Baku, while the share of the tourism sector in total employment this year will make up 4.9%.

ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the Baku City Master Plan until 2040.

In 2019, the employed population in the tourism sector of the capital reached 48,252 people, while the share of the sector in current employment was 3.6%.

In 2040, the share of the tourism sector in gross domestic product (GDP) will be 10%.

In 2019, GDP produced in the tourism sector was 1.898 bn manats, and the share of the sector was 6.5%.
