January 8, Fineko/abc.az. It is planned to extend gradually the Baku Boulevard to Bibiheybat in the south and to Zikh in the east.

ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the Baku City Master Plan until 2040.

According to the Master Plan, the extension of the Baku Boulevard in the south direction will create conditions for allotting 10.7 hectares of additional public green spaces with length of about 5.7 km. At that, extension of the boulevard from the White City to Zikh will create an additional boulevard area with length of about 8 km and an area of 247.8 hectares. These territories can become active public green spaces.

After implementation of the proposed expansion projects (about 258.5 hectares in total), the total length of Baku Boulevard with high-quality public green spaces will exceed 25 km by 2040. Thanks to this approach, the area of green spaces (parks, squares and hybrid green corridors) under the Master Plan will reach 2,757.3 hectares by 2040 from current 920 hectares. Due to this, the area of public green spaces per person will increase to 8.7 sq m.
