October 5, Fineko/abc.az. According to official statistics at the end of August 2026, overall loan portfolio of the real sector directed for the construction sector (for banking and non-bank credit institutions) amounted to 2.619 billion manats.

According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, if this July overall volume of loans given to this sector reached 2.56 billion manats (2.106 billion manats - bank loans and 454.8 million manats - non-bank loans), then in August the portfolio increased by 58.3 million manats, or 2.3%, reaching the corresponding indicator.

Following the results of August, 2.164 billion manats of the indicated volume accounted for banks and 454.8 million manats for by non-bank credit institutions.

The sector also saw significant growth against the 2025 same term. Thus, at the end of August 2025, the total loan portfolio directed for the construction sector stood at the level of 1.814 billion manats (1.209 billion manats - bank loans and 604.9 million manats - non-bank loans), which means a rise of 805.1 million manats, or 44.4% for Jan-Aug 2026).

In annual dynamics, the main growth occured due to bank loans: while the funds allocated by banks to the construction sector increased from 1.209 billion manats up to 2.164 billion manats, the portfolio of non-bank credit institutions decreased from 604.9 million manats to 454.8 million manats.
