Türkiye’s tomato export has grown sharply

January 7, Fineko/abc.az. The export of tomatoes from Türkiye in 2023 increased by 42.8% versus 2022 and reached $538.7 million.

ABC.AZ reports that according to the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters' Association (GAIB), in 2022, income of $377.198 million was received from tomato export from Türkiye to 54 countries. And in 2023, exports reached $538.724 million, exceeding the figures of the previous year by 42.8%.

During this period, it was exported 588,418 tons of tomatoes to 52 countries, including Romania, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, the UK, Seychelles, Russia, Denmark, Spain, Azerbaijan, Italy, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Estonia, France and other countries.

Romania is the country to which Türkiye exports the most tomatoes. Last year, Türkiye sold tomatoes for $91.98 million to Romania. Romania is followed by Ukraine (tomatoes for $64.666 million, Poland ($56.659 million), Germany ($53.987 million) and Russia ($39.585 million).
