Central Bank: Azerbaijan's current account surplus drops more than by 62%

December 15, Fineko/abc.az. The current account surplus of Azerbaijan's balance of payments in the third quarter of 2023 reached $6.7 bn (2.6-fold less versus Q3 of 2022).

ABC.AZ reports that CBA Statistics Department’s director Samir Nasirov stated about this at a briefing.

The current account surplus in the 3rd quarter of 2022 amounted to $17.7 billion.

The share of the current account in GDP was 12.5%. For the same period in 2022, this figure was 30.7%.

The current account surplus of the oil & gas sector totaled $12.1 billion (decline of 43.8% against the 2022 same term), and the current account deficit of the non-oil sector grew by 44.2% up to $5.4 billion.
