December 15, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank will be able to give loans to banks facing short-term liquidity shortages as creditors of last resort for the period of no more than six months and extend this period only once.
ABC.AZ reports that in this regard, CBA chairman has amended the rules for giving loans to banks by the regulator.
Before that, although it could give loans to banks in the last instance for a period of no more than six months, there were no limits in connection with a one-time giving.
In cases where there is a threat to the stability of financial markets, the CBA Board may decide to give a loan of last resort on different terms and for a longer period.
So far, there have been no comments on the long-term loan in this order.
