November 13, Fineko/abc.az. A number of systemically important banks have decided to increase the tariff for SMS notification by 2.5 times from next month. Such artificial tariff increases should be stopped, ABC.AZ reports, quoting MP Vugar Bayramov.

"The Central Bank announced a reduction in fees when cashing funds from plastic cards through ATMs (cash machines). This will reduce costs, especially when cashing out at ATMs of other banks, and this is a positive thing. But some banks that go for relief in this service are still trying to get more revenue at the expense of customers by raising prices in other directions. That is, as a result, again, the costs of customers for services will remain high," the MP emphasized.

Bayramov stressed that a number of systemically important banks have decided to increase the tariff for SMS notification by 2.5 times from next month. So, this service, which used to cost 40 gapiks, will cost 1 manat from next month.

He added that in this regard, the Central Bank should take serious steps: "It is very important that the Central Bank, as a regulator, find out the reasons for such a sharp increase in tariffs and take interventional steps in this direction."
