October 17, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan imported 792,331.38 tons of wheat for $210.7 million for Jan-Sept 2023.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Customs Committee that compared with Jan-Sept 2022, this indicator in value terms decreased by $51.3 million (19.6%) and in quantitative terms grew by 48,131.03 tons (6.5%).

In the first 9 months of 2022, the country imported 744,200.35 tons of wheat for $262.66 million.

The price for a ton of wheat imported into the country reached $266 for the reported term. This figure declined by $86 (24.5%) this year. The cost of a ton of wheat was $352 for Jan-Sept 2022.
Wheat imports made up 1.67% of Azerbaijan's total imports for Jan-Sept 2023 (2.55% for Jan-Sept 2022).
