September 6, Fineko/abc.az. Dublin-based Wayflyer, which finances startups in the e-commerce sector, has announced the acquisition of $1 billion of capital from American investment management firm Neuberger Berman.

ABC.AZ reports that Wayflyer CEO Aidan Corbett announced that Wayflyer will use the proceeds from the $1 billion deal to accelerate the company's growth, particularly in the United States.

About 65% of Wayflyer's customers are located in the USA and North America. The rest are located in Western Europe, mainly in the UK and Australia.

Morgan Stanley predicts that the e-commerce industry could grow from today's $3.3 trillion to $5.4 trillion in 2026, while e-commerce will reach 27% of sales over the next three years.
